The modern general gyaru style. It has various substyles Rokku Gyaru being one of them.
Rokku Gyaru (Rock Gal) is a J-Fashion subcategory, incorporating elements of goth, rock, and visual kei.
Put on your leather, lace up your boots, and strap on your spikes and studs. Let it rokku!

The eyes say it all

There are many ways you can do your make up when you decide to get all dressed up in Rokku Gyaru Style. The most common way is to use darker eye liner and more defined lashes on both your upper and lower lash lines. You may also choose to wear various colored make up, but nude eyes or smokey eyes is often a common choice.
Below are two fun examples you can use for your eye make up. These are the more subtle every day looks of the Rokku Gyaru world. In another post, I'll post some examples of darker versions of make up that you can experiment with :)

Hair Tutorial~

So cruising around on youtube, I happened upon a tutorial for one of my absolute favorite Rokku Gyaru Hairstyles! I was so excited! (Especially since this had a method for keeping the rolls in place without using 47298347 bobby pins!)

She does the tutorial very well without any words, but just for a heads up you will need a rat tail comb, hairspray, bobby pins, and a clip (banana clips work well) to help section off hair. It's a relatively easy style that just takes a lot of teasing and hairspray. It's worth it though! It always looks cool in the end.

Here is a picture of me rocking that hairstyle
Of course my hair is layered unlike hers, so it creates even more of a unique look. You can have fun with this style, tease it as high as you want or as flat as you want. Your choice!

Simple is Great

If you are familiar with the Rokku Gyaru style, you'll notice that a lot of the clothes are on the simple side (though far from plain). This is because, accessories are your best friend! Most outfits consist of a few pieces that get 'dressed up' with well placed jewelry, hats, fancy nails, tights or shoes. (And often a combination of all of those elements.)
The outfit pictured above is one of my faves from Ghost of Harlem - modeled by Sakurina of course as it also displays that you don't need to constantly wear black and white. (Though I'm guilty of this myself). Throw in a splash of color, mix it up. You can't go wrong with lacy outerwear or designs with skulls and crosses.

Re:No also displays here that accessories make an outfit. Not to mention the skulls and crosses ;) Cheetah print also works here... All outfits are courtesy of Ghost of Harlem.
